Experience an Eternal Moment

Take a moment to set aside all the busyness as you settle in to experience an eternal moment with God. You are an eternal spiritual being created in the image and likeness of God. He sees you right now, right where you are. Even more, He experiences life through you. He sees what you see and He knows your every thought.

Your worth is so great that He has numbered every single hair on your head (Matthew 10:30). God rejoices over you with joyful singing and dancing (Zephaniah 3:17). Consider King David’s inspired revelation of God’s intimate knowledge and engagement with him:

You formed my innermost being, shaping my delicate inside and my intricate outside, and wove them all together in my mother’s womb. I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord! You even formed every bone in my body when you created me in the secret place, carefully, skillfully shaping me from nothing to something. You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book. (Psalm 139:13-16 TPT)

Take in a slow deep breath and allow stress to leave your body. Hold it in for a moment and then slowly exhale as you shift your focus onto your breathing and the details of this moment. Continue this process one breath at a time. As you take each breath, realize that God is enjoying each one. He is closer than your thoughts and nearer than your very breath.

Take a moment to welcome God into your thought-life, “Welcome to my thoughts God. I hope you enjoy them.” Hear Him say, “I am here with you. I always enjoy you! You are my cherished one. This is what I created you to experience. Draw close and know me because I have much to impart to you at this moment.”

Take a moment to thank God. “Thank You, God, for being who you are. Thank You for creating me. Thank You for loving me so well. Thank You for being with me and never forsaking me. Thank You for drawing me aside to enjoy this sacred moment with You.” Listen to His response and write it down. Note how you feel as God reveals Himself to you.

Take a moment to express appreciation. “I am so appreciative of the life you have given me. Even in the midst of pain and sorrows, I still feel Your presence and Your love. Thank You so much for the great privilege of experiencing life with You. Every moment is so precious when I invite You into it. Let’s make this our new norm.”

Take a slow deep breath, and then slowly breathe it out. Now, as you take this next breath in, invite God to fill you more fully with Himself. As you take a deep slow breath, feel His presence filling you up. Then, as you exhale, feel all the fear, anxiousness, frustration, and anger leaving you. Keep repeating this process as you experience God’s goodness filling you and pushing everything else out.

Now that God’s presence is manifest, ask Him to show you how He sees you. Sit quietly as you make room for God to speak to your spirit. As imagery fills your thoughts, take notes. This is a sacred moment and you want to engage this revelation not only mentally but all emotionally. Allow your feelings to be changed by this powerful revelation of what God says is true about you. Finally, take a moment again to thank God for meeting you. “Thank You, God, for encountering me here so easily and faithfully. I love Your presence! Let’s keep doing this every day. I want to taste more of You (Psalm 34:8) and to know Your goodness. My heart says yes to You.”
